Around the Web in Construction Law – May 13, 2010

For some time in 2009, the Construction Law Monitor published an “Around The Web” post each Friday, highlighting some of the top construction law updates around the web that week. We’ve fallen off the wagon a bit in recent months, but we’re doing our best to bringing the feature back.
A lot of the Around The Web material will come from my personal Google Reader Shared Items Feed. You can subscribe to its RSS directly.
Here’s what we’ve been following ( and talking about) for the past few weeks:
- In a significant development for Chinese drywall litigation, it’s being reported Chinese drywall manufacturer Knauf has reached a settlement with national home builder Beazer Homes, this report comes days after judgments against Knauf were finalized in U.S. District Court. Also, the Chinese drywall complaint center expanded it’s services.
- Green building continues to command local and national news. Nintendo opened the doors to it’s new, green North American Headquarters, the first ever LEED challenge was denied, Oregon adopted tough new green building codes, Denver welcomed its first platinum certified LEED high-rise, and the EPA announced the launch of The Biggest Loser: Green Building
- Elsewhere on the web, and in the world, the Supreme Court closed its front doors to the public despite disagreement amongst supreme court members, the iPad 3g finally launched, and efforts to protect the gulf coast from the recent oil spill continue.
